Road Trip - ND vs. Michigan

It was a great trip this past weekend!
Marla and I traveled to Ann Arbor with Jill and D to watch the Irish take on the Wolverines. Unfortunately, or fortunately, depending on your allegiance; the Irish took a beating. 38-0 in our first trip to "The Big House". Yep, it really is that big. Here are some pictures from the trip...
In "The Big House"
In the 7th level of Dante's Inferno
Otherwise known as "The Big House"
This picture does even give you a glimpse of the amount of people coming up this street to the stadium. 111,000 and change this game day.
We saw this flag way to often that day...

The student section is massive...

The future of ND Football, #7 Jimmy Clausen with Coach Weiss

Everyone had something new to wear to the game and Maternity clothes are difficult to come by with ND logo'd on them. Hmm, maybe a new venture here. So I had Marla a t-shirt made that was logo'd "Irish Fan On Board"

Only later did we realize that she was wearing my #3 Jersey and carrying our third child Abigail to her first ND game!

"Wow baby, how much stuff did we really need after those five t-shirts that I had overnighted for the game! We may have gone overboard!"

How you thank the girl for not being mad that you went overboard...

A good looking couple....

It's Off To Ann Arbor

Well, we are off to Ann Arbor tomorrow with Jill and Darren for the Michigan and Notre Dame game! Have never been to the Big House and hopefully Charlie can get the boys in line for the first win of the season! It should be a good game with both the freshman QB's playing. Post up some pics when we get back.....

Why Notre Dame is special ...

Someone asked me not to long ago why Notre Dame was so special and why we cared enough to spend the money we do to see games and the pageantry that we have around the house for game day. I thought of this story from last season. It was difficult to explain the story but it is self evident when you watch the video clip what makes Notre Dame what it is. Charlie Weiss didn't want this story in the open. It only broke a week after the meeting at the request of the boys mother. How many other countless acts of selflessness like this one have gone unnoticed? No one will truly know. It's going to be a tough season this year and the fair weather fans are already jumping ship. However, when football is said and done the actions reported in this story are what make Notre Dame special. I pray my children will understand one day that it is better to give back to the world than to take from it. My father has always said that what goes around comes around. In our business, in our personal lives, and just all around. in general. Marla and I are blessed with two healthy children, and praise God, a third healthy one on the way. What a reminder this story is as to how blessed we are and why Notre Dame is special. GO IRISH! Pass Right!
